Adam Haber

Co-founder/CEO Trellus Same Day Delivery and Marketplace

Adam Haber is dedicated to serving his community. As a Roslyn School Board Trustee from 2009-2018, Adam fought for residents and children and helped bring the Roslyn School District back from the brink of financial ruin after an $11.2 million theft. From 2018-2019, he also served as head of Economic Development at the Town of Hempstead, an experience that deepened his passion for helping Long Island small businesses.

After Hurricane Sandy, Adam personally initiated Project Long Island to repair 200+ damaged homes in Long Beach through All Hands and Hearts (AHAH), a disaster relief organization where he is currently a board member. In addition, Adam is exceptionally proud to be a board member of the Hagedorn Little Village School since April 2017.

As a small business owner and entrepreneur, Adam has genuine experience creating jobs, attracting capital, and managing complex budgets. He had a 22-year career as a commodity options trader, has owned three restaurants (one of which had a Michelin Star), and is a non-operating principal of ScanlanKemperBard, a Portland, Oregon-based commercial real estate merchant bank. Adam is also an active member of the Long Island Angel Network and has invested in multiple startups.

In January 2021, Adam and his partners launched Trellus Same-Day Local Delivery & Marketplace. They recognized that the continued expansion of Amazon and big-box e-commerce giants on Long Island makes it increasingly difficult for local small businesses and downtowns to compete in a digital landscape. Meanwhile, the COVID pandemic has had lasting impacts on the retail industry. Consumers increasingly shifted to online purchasing as delivery wait times became shorter.

Adam and his team designed Trellus in response to these challenges and prioritized the best interests of Long Island’s independent small businesses. Trellus provides local businesses the technology platform and reliable network of gig drivers they need to offer on-demand, same-day delivery. These merchants are empowered to manage their fulfillment, as the Trellus pricing model does not cut into their profits per transaction and makes sense for their bottom line. In turn, local customers can get the items they need faster and more conveniently, from trusted local businesses in their community.

Currently, 90% of Trellus deliveries are completed in under two hours and 100% of deliveries are completed the same day. There are more than 215 Long Island merchants on the Trellus network, which is growing each day. After leading Trellus to raise more than $2 million in seed funding, Adam plans to secure a Series A round and launch Trellus into a new phase of growth. This will include expansion beyond Long Island and the rollout of a new Marketplace platform, where customers and merchants will transact directly.

As CEO at Trellus, Adam collaborates closely with his team and embraces his role as a community developer. He enjoys spending time connecting with local entrepreneurs and looks forward to strengthening Long Island’s small business community in the future.
